This Cookie Policy describes cookies and similar technologies on our website. The website application does not set cookies or pixel tags. For cookieless reach and performance measurement, we use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights. We save an explicitly selected light or dark display mode in your browser’s local storage. What are cookies, pixels and local storage?

Cookies are small files that websites place on your computer while you browse the internet. Many commercial websites use cookies. Cookies – and similar technologies – perform various tasks, such as navigating efficiently between pages, saving settings and generally improving usability. Cookies and other technologies can also be used to measure the effectiveness of marketing.

Pixel tags (also known as web beacons or pixels) are small blocks of code on a web page or in an email notification. Pixels allow companies to collect information such as a user's IP address, the time the pixel was displayed and the type of browser used.

Local storage allows a website to store information locally on your computer or mobile device. Local storage is mainly used to store and retrieve data in HTML pages from the same domain.

It is important to understand that cookies (and the technologies listed above) can collect both personal and non-identifiable information.

How and why do websites use cookies?

Websites can use both their own cookies (first-party cookies, which are set by the website visited) and cookies from third parties (third-party cookies, which are set by a server outside the domain of the website visited). Cookies we use

The website application uses no cookies, pixel tags, advertising trackers or marketing technologies. For reach and performance measurement, we use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights without cookies and without entries in your browser. Only a light or dark display mode explicitly selected by you is stored in your browser’s local storage. Contact-form entries are not saved there.

Technically necessary entries in local storage

No display preference is stored on your first visit. Without a saved choice, the website follows your device’s light or dark appearance. After you use the display button, ibu-mode stores only “light” or “dark”. It contains no visitor identifier or timestamp, is not sent to our server or third parties, and has no automatic expiry. You can remove it by deleting this website’s local storage. Switching the display again overwrites it.

If local storage is blocked, the display can still be changed for the open page. The website stores no external-media preferences, contact-form entries, language choices or search queries in local storage or session storage.

Hosting on Vercel

Cookies set by the website application are separate from protections operated by the hosting provider. If Vercel’s firewall triggers a security challenge, it checks the browser before granting access. A successful check can create a browser-bound challenge session that Vercel describes as valid for one hour. This is conditional and does not mean every visit creates such a session.

Cookieless web analytics and performance measurement

Vercel Web Analytics counts page views and Vercel Speed Insights measures loading speed. Both scripts are loaded from our own website address and send their measurements there as well.

  • Name and technology: Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights; scripts without cookies and without entries in local storage or session storage.
  • Provider: Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Avenue #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA
  • Recognition: no visitor identifier in the browser. Vercel creates a hash from the request that expires after one day.
  • Opting out: If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, no measurements are sent. A content blocker also prevents measurement.

Local map and links to Google Maps

The location page shows a locally hosted map image. Google Maps is not embedded. Its directions link opens Google’s website only when selected. Google’s own privacy and cookie notices apply there.

Links to LinkedIn

The press page links to LinkedIn posts without embedding them. LinkedIn content is not loaded when you visit our pages. If you open a link, LinkedIn’s privacy and cookie notices apply on its website.

Your choices

You can change the display using the light/dark button and remove ibu-mode by deleting this website’s local storage in your browser settings. Deleting cookies alone does not necessarily remove local storage. On the next visit without a saved preference, the website follows your device’s appearance.

You can switch off cookieless reach and performance measurement by enabling Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track in your browser. Our website then sends no measurements.

There is no cookie-consent banner or “Cookie settings” control on this website. Permissions left in your browser by an earlier website version do not activate external media. You can remove old entries through your browser’s website-data settings.

Rules protecting information on your device also apply to local storage. Section 25 TDDDG includes an exception where storage or access is strictly necessary to provide a function expressly requested by you. The display entry described above is created only after you change the display yourself, to restore that choice on later page views. We do not use it for other purposes.

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time at our own discretion. In this case, we will publish an updated Cookie Policy on our website. Changes, modifications, additions or deletions take effect immediately upon their publication on our website. We recommend that you check this Cookie Policy regularly for changes. Should we use further cookies or similar technologies in the future, we will inform you and obtain your consent where required by law.
